#283 – World Class Championship Wrestling, November 17, 1984
This week Dre and the Black Cat have a great time talking about an episode of World Class Championship Wrestling during the peak of Von Erich family in Dallas, TX. This episode of WCCW features some incredible feuds like Terry Gordy and Killer Kahn, Kevin vs Chris Adams, Butch Reed and Kerry Von Erich, and Stella Mae vs Andrea the Lady Giant! In the second half, Dre takes us on a magnificent journey into the mind of Bob Backland. If you recorded this before Butch Reed passed away then that’s some creepy timing for an impromptu tribute. I think Doom is an very under-rated team. The Steiners get a ton a credit for being the greatest tag team of that era but they were helped by having a memorable feud with Doom. They absolutely lifted the quality of tag team matches in late 80s WCW. As a solo wrestler I mostly remember his GWF run since that seemed to be on TV everyday for a while.
