#224 – WWF Invasion 2001

Black Cat and Dre review the classic WWF Invasion 2001 – the night wrestling fans had been waiting for – the night when WWF finally took on WCW in the big showdown. It had all the big matches – Rock vs Goldberg, Austin vs Flair, Angle vs Sting…or not. This episode is brought to you by DIRTY DAWG Darsie of the “Wrestling With the Dawg” podcast who donated to the podcast via the OSWP Patreon page. Triple D joins us in the second half to talk about his wrestling fandom and the ball pits of Minnesota casinos. Please support the show by visiting our merch page or by donating at the OSWP Patreon. We’ll see you…at the matches.

Wow what a small world. I have not heard the name Eric Darsie in many years. We both used to write pieces for the same wrestling blog about 10 years ago, although we’ve never met because he is in Minnesota and I am in Philly. And even though I’ve listened to the OSWP since somewhere around episode 40 or so, I had no idea he was a listener as well. Thanks for another great episode and for reminding me of my “journalistic” past.

I would have been 7 years old when this show happened. I never got to see ppvs when I was growing up so I did not see this live. It’s probably a good thing I didn’t see it. I was so mad when stone cold became a bad guy back then. I can remember being super excited for this show because they kept saying the real stone cold was coming back. Boy would I have been disappointed as a kid had I seen the end to this ppv as a seven year old.

As always thanks for the review!
