This week on the Old School Wrestling Podcast, Dre and the Black Cat revisit the budding partnership of Steven Regal and Beautiful Bobby in 1995 and sadly the eventual breakup of the classic Blue Blood tag team later the next year. In particular they review a great short WCW Saturday Night match between the two for the WCW Television title from November of that year. Nice episode guys. Lord Steven / William Regal is one of my all time favorites. His “eating shit” disgusted looks, along with calling opponents “miserable toe rag” or “sunshine” during promos always did it for me. Not to mention the British technical chain wrestling style. The odd couple partnership with Bobby Eaton was great, as was his similar mismatched pairing with Tajiri several years later in the WWF. Good stuff!
Now to a “sometimes we’re wrong” moment. I love how Dre called Bobby’s replacement in The Blue Bloods, Squire Dave Taylor “Dave Squire.” This brought to mind 80s schlock rocker Billy Squier of “Stroke Me”, “Everybody Wants Some” and “Lonely is the Night” fame (or shame?)

Downtown Disney at Disneyland still has an ESPN Zone and a Rain forest Cafe. We eat at both of them trip.

I didn’t know you guys went to the Pillman shows. The Benoit-Regal match was an amazing experience live.
