Not sure when thee Brooklyn Brawler reckons he’s going to be using all those finishing moves.

  2. I completely agree that the story around the Red Rooster is actually really good. I forgot about that brawl in the Primetime studio and am very happy that got brought up.

In one of Brooklyn Brawler’s promos for this program, he said he was going to pluck the Red Rooster’s feathers one by one. My grandma, who grew up on a farm but wasn’t a wrestling fan at all, heard this and got pretty fired up about how mean it is to do that and how it’s just like plucking hair from a human.

Terry Taylor, at least in 2007, takes the whole Rooster thing in stride. The one booking meeting I was ever invited to sit in on was for a promotion where Taylor was brought in to help book and develop programs. Most people in this meeting addressed him as “Rooster.” Taylor didn’t act as if this bothered him, but I figured this must only be okay for those who’ve been around him for a while. So I just referred to him as Mr. Taylor.

Wayne’s World started in the 11:50 slot.

I’d be surprised if Rooster vs. Heenan at WM V lasted longer than 1 minute.

I love that all of Tommy Rich’s lines start with “Someone said sumthin’ ’bout.”

Really looking forward to seeing if Dre & Blackcat can get back to our future. I Hope they run in to Kris Kristofferson & Cheryl Ladd and their Boeing 707 to send them back.

  4. Bobby's Brainscan says:

I didn’t really know the back story of Bobby and The red rooster, so it was good to watch the build up to the Wrestlemania match. From what I remember about watching the blow off, I was quite excited to watch the despicable Bobby Heenan (this was before I became smart) get his comeuppance. I was only about 11 at the time, so it never occured to me that The red rooster was a terrible gimmik, as the cartoon world of WWF always seemed to make sense to an impressionable pre-teen.
